We are now looking forSourcing Directorto join our global team in Global Service Division (GSD). This role will be new, and it can be located in any European MacGregor location.
In this role you will be responsible for leading and developing the Sourcing team and the Sourcing work for GSD Division for the Western hemisphere, in cooperation and alignment with the Sourcing Director, Eastern, and the overall MacGregor Sourcing strategy. As a member of the GSD extended Management team you will actively participate in the success for the Division’s profitability and growth.
With own local and shared global MacGregor Sourcing resources and with preferred supplier base, you will actively drive and support improvements on operational performance and strategic changes of technology, supplier base etc. The strategic changes are based on common MacGregor categories sourcing strategies and GSD Business strategy needs.
As a member of MacGregor Sourcing Council, you would collaborate with other Division Sourcing teams on category management and supplier management to drive spend consolidation and resource leveraging.
Your Key Accountabilities In The Role Would Be
- Develop and expand sourcing channels unique to aftersales/spare-part business needs, e.g. alternative suppliers, in order to secure Product Availabilities or on-time deliveries.
- KPIs on operational excellence, to include payment term, quality, cost and delivery/flexibility on lead times (QDC)
- Successful cross functional leadership and participation in improvement projects to reach targets
- Secure that the GSD sourcing team contributes to and utilizes the leverage strength of MacGregor global Sourcing through common category and vendor management as well as common tools and process.
- Develop the GSD Sourcing team through active leadership, mentoring and performance development.
- Ensure supplier performance in terms of on time delivery, response and availability performance following the business needs in an after sales business
- Close cooperation with the purchasing teams with the GSD organization
In order to succeed in the role, we expect you to have a third level degree and/or Master’s degree in a relevant business discipline. You should have gained minimum 3 years of relevant Industrial experience (truck, construction machines, agriculture or automotive.), preferably in Aftersales; and have minimum 5-7 years within a Sourcing role (preferably in Aftersales), 3 to 5 years of which should be at the Senior Management level, within a multi-national, multi-site, global company.
You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to develop and sustain a trusting relationship with our preferred supplier base; as well as a proven responsibility for key supplier relations and negotiations. In addition, you need strong people management skills and experience, to achieve full alignment of each individual team member’s performance with the business strategy and goals. We also value cross-functional experience between Manufacturing, Material Management, Engineering and R&D, as well as ability to travel globally, sometimes at short notice.
Key Competencies That We Value
- Knowledge in Sourcing methods like category and vendor management, product calculation and open book, quality assurance planning (QAP), negation skills and legal/contractual.
- Open communication with co-workers and leadership interest, competence and experience.
- Business driven in the relation to suppliers, including fact based and long term.
- 3-5 years of experience from Aftersales /Spare Part Business in the maritime/offshore segment, preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
